Rino is PHA's President. Besides direct management of the association, his responsibilities include planning, program development and fundraising. Rino oversees four departments: Advocacy and Awareness, Medical Services, International Services, and Finance. Rino works closely with PHA's Board, its Scientific Leadership Council and is involved in many of PHA's committees.
Adrienne Dern joined the staff of PHA in April 2006 as Vice President, a newly created position. In that role, Adrienne manages four departments: Development, Volunteer Services, Internet & Print Services, and Meetings Planning.
As the Advocacy and Awareness Associate, Nathan coordinates PHA's media efforts. Through the grassroots campaign, PHAware, Nathan supports PH community members as they share their story with the media. He monitors press coverage on an ongoing basis and is the first point of contact for press inquiries. Nathan is also responsible for the Our Journeys project and serves as PHA's insurance advocate.
Dorothy Bradley
Dorothy is a part-time Office
Assistant at PHA. She jumps in to help with
many mailings and other tasks. Dorothy has seen PHA
through many of it's changes.
Jessica is PHA’s Office Manager. In addition to helping out and overseeing the administrative staff, Jessica is responsible for overseeing the office space, maintenance and purchase of office equipment and managing a variety of internal office procedures.
In the position of Meetings Department Associate, Jennie provides planning support for PHA’s various meetings such as the Board of Trustee Meetings and the PH Resource Network Symposium. In addition to assisting with logistics and marketing for PHA’s Eighth International Conference, Jennie coordinates the Conference Scholarship program.
As PHA's Director of Volunteer Services, Debbie is charged with the sustenance
and expansion of the volunteer spirit within PHA.
This includes working with support group leaders and
special events volunteers.
As Publications Manager, Christine serves as PHA's primary writer and editor for PHA promotional materials and print publications. She coordinates the production and publication of PHA's newsletters and other print materials. Christine is working to increase participation by the PH community in contributing their stories to Pathlight and Persistent Voices.
As a Medical Services Program Associate, Robyn supports PH Resource Network, PHA’s membership section for allied health professionals -- nurses, pharmacists and respiratory therapists, etc. As a member of the Medical Services team, she works with the leadership and subcommittees of the PH Resource Network, the Scientific Leadership Council, and PH Clinicians and Researchers to develop and meet their goals.
As PHA’s Special Events Coordinator, Deirdre works closely with volunteers as well as friends and family of PH patients to plan fundraisers across the country. By offering advice, guidance, and materials, Deirdre provides volunteer coordinators with support they need to make their event a success. She also creates new special event campaigns, programs and resources, making a variety of special event opportunities available to the PH community.
The Administrative Associate position is the first point of contact for members, donors and the general public for PHA. Tesia can assist callers with processing donations, becoming members and taking orders for free materials, member inquiry packets or merchandise sold in our store.
As Director of Internet and IT Services, Diane manages the PHA website and IT infrastructure. She is working to make PHAssociation.org a more effective tool for PH patients, families, and medical professionals to connect and share resources.
As the Associate Director of Meetings Planning, Jessica coordinates the logistics for PHA’s board meetings, Medical Education Sessions, and the PH Resource Network Symposium. In addition, Jessica will be working closely with the PH community to ensure that the 8th International PH Conference is a positive experience for patients, caregivers, and medical professionals as they network, share their stories, and learn more about the many facets of coping with PH.
As Senior Development Associate, Andrew works to implement development programs that foster support for PHA, its programs and services and its research agenda. Andrew runs PHA’s planned giving program and the Legacy of Hope Society, PHA’s recognition society for individuals who have included PHA in their estate plans. Andrew is also the contact for the Sustainer’s Circle, PHA’s monthly giving program as well as the Combined Federal Campaign. Additionally, Andrew answers donor and member inquiries regarding making donations.
As Database and Finance Associate, Arsene's duties include processing donations and updating member information in the database. He also does accounts payable.
As Web and IT Assistant, Susan helps update the PHA website, drafts the PHANews e-newsletter, and manages the online calendars, message boards and e-mail listserv groups. As part of PHA's web team, Susan is working to make PHAssociation.org a more effective place where PH patients, families, and medical professionals can locate information, bond, communicate and share resources.
Katie is PHA’s Director of Advocacy and Awareness. Katie coordinates PHA’s grassroots advocacy efforts, including the 435 Campaign. She maintains online action alerts, manages the advocacy listserv and provides patients and supporters with tools and resources to build successful relationships with their elected officials. Katie is the first point of contact for information about PH Awareness Month in November, the Pulmonary Hypertension Research Act, the Congressional Luncheon and the PH Resource Network Lobby Day.
As a Medical Services Program Associate, Rebekah focuses on facilitating the development and growth of PHA’s membership section for physicians and Ph.D.- level researchers, PH Clinicians and Researchers. As a member of the Medical Services team, she also focuses on outreach to underserved clinics and populations. Rebekah also provides support on different activities related to PH Resource Network and the Scientific Leadership Council.
As a Meetings Department Assistant, Melissa provides support for the Department's projects and initiatives primarily the 8th International PH Conference. She assists with the marketing, registration, logistics and all other aspects concerning this important event for the PH community.
As Assistant to the President, Jess works to maintain effective communication with PHA Board members and supporters. She also manages PHA’s educational grants.
Rachel is PHA's Associate Director of Medical Services. She works on the development of
the two medical sections of PHA, PH Clinicians and Researchers (PHCR) and PH Resource Network and also supports the activities of
the Scientific Leadership Council.
As International Program Manager Angie works closely with international PH Associations to ensure that PH information is gathered and disseminated worldwide. She works to connect patients with Associations, Support Groups, and doctors in their region to give them the best access to support and treatment. Additionally, Angie is the point person on translations of the Patient’s Survival Guide.
As Database Manager, Keisha is charged with administering PHA’s 30,000+ database. Keisha focuses on overseeing the daily data entry, maintaining the integrity of the information that is stored, and processing gifts and memberships to PHA. Her duties also include oversight of staff training on database usage and developing the database into the staff’s go-to source for information.
As PHA’s Development Manager, Jillian works to implement development programs that foster support for PHA. Programs include membership and annual giving, major donor support and foundation grant-seeking. In conjunction with the other members of the development team, Jillian works to implement direct-mail solicitations and conduct donor cultivation and other development-related activities. Jillian is also the contact for PHA’s Circle of Friends program.
Carol is an advisor to the Medical Services Department and works with the PH Resource Network, PH Clinicians and Researchers and the Scientific Leadership Council. She works to promote public-private partnerships in the support of research, conferences, training and education.
Donald is PHA's Director of Finance. He has a graduate degree in business administration and 20 years of non-profit industry experience. He is responsible for financial reporting, financial and accounting systems, annual audit coordination, annual budget coordination, and human resources administration (including payroll), among other tasks.
