Report on activities
from your support group and/or local area. Help us stay
connected on a regular basis by gathering
information, highlights and photos that can be used
for spotlights on the website and as ideas for
Pathlight articles. Report on your group’s activities and help readers navigate the day-to-day challenges of living with PH by sharing practical tips, tasty recipes or important reminders. If your group has done something in your community that you think others would benefit from trying, let readers know how you accomplished it and why it’s worth doing elsewhere.
We also need
volunteers who like to write and/or who are
comfortable interviewing patients, family members
and medical professionals. We are also looking for youth
writers — or writers youthful at heart — to help with
stories for Under21.
Message Board, Listserv and Chat Monitors
Monitor one or more of the listservs, message boards and chats. Let us know when someone has a question we should follow up on or if we need to remove a spammer. Track frequently occurring topics that PHA should compile into an informational fact sheet or web page. Help us centralize the information so we can create a resource for those who need it and save others the time of having to answer the same question over again.
Chat Moderators
Schedule a time to meet online every week with the online PH community. Be there to chat, provide feedback from your own experience, learn from others and refer them to PHA or their PH specialist for more information.
Website Surfers
Surf sections of PHA’s website to proofread web pages and check the validity of links. Advise us of any corrections to be made and provide feedback on what works well and what doesn’t. Make suggestions for additional content the PH community might find interesting.
Webmaster Technical Support Assistants
Work on websites as a career or in your spare time? We are looking for website geeks like you to support our one-person web “team” because, as you know, no one person can know everything when it comes to website technology. Be on-call to help work through technical issues as your schedule permits.
Website Designers
We are also looking for web geeks who do website design. We’d like to put you in touch with our resident geek. We are looking for assistance with improving the website experience for our PH community.

Daytime Office Support
Help the national office staff with filing, data entry, answering phones and so much more. We are in special need of day time volunteers and those with computer and internet proficiency.
Volunteer Nights
Volunteers in the area are also invited to attend weekly volunteer nights, usually held on Wednesday nights.
Have experience designing graphics for print or web? We need your help getting the attention our cause deserves. So much of what we do depends on getting the word out there, and the right graphic design can make a huge difference in how successful we are. Please consider volunteering some of your time to provide this critical support.
For more information contact Christine at 301-565-3004 x114 or print@PHAssociation.org .
Print Graphic Designers
If your experience is print, we consistently have projects that come up and need volunteers to be a part of our graphic design volunteer team. We are looking for people with experience with QuarkXPress, Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator or in studio/digital art. Project examples include brochures and fliers, logos for new PHA programs, t-shirts and signs for conferences, and much more. If you’re interested, we'll contact you as projects occur to see if you have the time. Projects are coming up all the time, so let us know whenever you’re ready to join our team.

Educate and build hope for PH patients and families by helping to coordinate a local Support Group . You can offer to assist with existing groups or come forward to start a group where one doesn’t exist. PHA staff will support your efforts by developing programming and providing materials. Ideally, Support Groups will have a team of leaders to share the responsibilities so don’t feel you need to do it all alone …together we can accomplish so much!
For more information on getting involved with support groups or starting one in your area contact Debbie at 301-565-3004 x115 or supportgroups@PHAssociation.org .
Every person who comes forward to organize a Special Event in their community helps raise awareness about PH and funds that allow PHA to maintain and expand patient services and increase PH research. Events of all shapes and sizes contribute to our success! PHA staff will help you choose the right event for your community and will guide you through all of the steps necessary to recruit your committee, enlist volunteers, and create a successful PHA Special Event.
Contact our Special Events Coordinator at 301-565-3004 x125 or event@PHAssociation.org to discuss how we can work together through special event fundraisers that support PHA and the PH community.
