North Texas PH Walk for a Cure

North Texas PH Walk for a CureArmed with purple and white balloons, walking shoes, sweat suits, scooters, and backpacks, a group of several dozen supporters descended on Bob Eden Park in Euless, TX on Saturday, November 3rd for the inaugural (1st annual) North Texas PH Support Group Fun Walk for a Cure. Participants included patients, doctors, nurses, sponsors, family, and friends.

Volunteers arrived at the park early, stuffing goodie bags, setting up the course, preparing snacks for sale, and getting items ready for the prize raffle that capped off the festivities.North Texas PH Walk for a Cure (First prize was a grandfather clock!) Sponsors were also on hand to provide us with the latest information and to answer questions from newer members of the PH community.

We would like to thank our sponsors for their generous support and participation in the planning and execution of the event. Our sponsors included Accredo, United Therapeutics, Actelion, Caremark, Gilead, Scott & White, and Dr. Fernando Torres – UT Southwestern Medical Center. We would also like to thank everyone who contributed on the event website and who joined us for the walk. We could not have done it without your help!

The event raised nearly $5000 to help find a cure and for patient advocacy.
