Michigan Cure PH Golf Tournament Raises Over $7,400
On August 20, the Whispering Pines Golf Course in Pinckney,
Michigan, was home to the second annual Michigan Cure PH
Golf Tournament. This year’s events brought over three times
more golfers and supporters together than the first tournament,
with 48 participants. The event raised over $7,000 for research and services, including a portion specifically reserved for conference scholarships.
The event was a huge success, according to event
coordinator and support group leader, Mary Bostwick.“Everyone had a great time. I am so pleased with the response
this year. I know next year can only be better. Doing this event
has given me so much pleasure, seeing all the good people can
do for a good cause,” she said.
Because of the hard work of Mary and a dedicated team of
volunteers, including many under the age of 16, the MI support
group drew a crowd of patients, friends and family, doctors,
medical supply companies, and pharmaceuticals, including
Encysive, United Therapeutics, Accredo, and CoTherix. The
group has plans under way for their third annual MI Cure PH
Golf Tournament, to take place again at Whispering Pines, on
August 5, 2006.
