The competition involved participants hiking as quickly as possible (some ran) over the very steep, beautiful peaks of Vermont’s central Green Mountains. There were 2 courses to choose from; a short 4.5 mile loop, and a longer 16 mile loop.  The race was a benefit for the Pulmonary Hypertension Association (PHA).  The day brought great weather and it was a true family affair with live music, food, PHA raffle, and kids’ events. 150 people, some from as far away as California, participated in the race!  A special thanks to all of those who volunteered their time and services making the HERC Open a successful PHA fundraising event!
