The golf tournament was held on April 29, 2006 at McCormick Ranch Golf Club in Scottsdale, AZ. We had a beautiful day for golfing. It was warm but a nice breeze kept everyone from getting too hot. We had 100 golfers and another 70 people joined us for a fajita/taco buffet lunch.
This year we had a larger sponsorship base than last year. Two new sponsorships that were well received were the golf shirts each golfer received with their goodie bag, which came from Antigua, and volunteer t-shirts printed by Cruiserland.
We also expanded our silent auction and raffles which helped us reach our goal of $50,000. Considering this was only our second year holding the golf tournament, we were extremely happy that we able to raise that much for the PHA.
We’d like to thank all our sponsors who helped make this tournament a hugh success. The volunteers the day of tournament for their tireless help. The wonderful people who made cash donations on behalf of the tournament. All the generous companies and individuals who donated items and services for the silent auction and raffle. Last but not least, thank you to the golfers who made it all possible.
A special thank you to the committee members for all their effort and hard work. Next year’s tournament is already in the planning stages. It will be on Saturday, March 24, 2007, at McCormick Ranch Golf Club.
