Events - Arizona Team Helps Spur A Cure for PH!

by Trish Duque and Amy Moseley
We just celebrated year two of the Annual Spur A Cure for PH event at the Rustler’s Rooste in Phoenix, AZ! This year’s event was a huge success starting with planning sessions, consulting with friends and family members with non-profit experience, and the dedicated staff at PHA (Deidre Farrell, Debbie Castro and Jessica Brooks among countless others) helping along the way. In the end, our most successful sales efforts came from friends and family members, national PHA support, and silent auction and event night donations. They are all terrific partners that helped make our event a smashing success! With our partnership with PHA, we were able to provide online dinner ticket sales and donations which assisted us greatly in our marketing and fund raising efforts.
The beautiful mountain top views of the valley and the cool desert evening made for the perfect backdrop for our casual outdoor western theme dinner with delicious food, friends, and support for PH. Dr. Jeremy Feldman, Director of Pulmonary Hypertension Program, St. Joseph Hospital & Medical Center, spoke to the attendees about PH research, upcoming treatments, and new hope.
What did we learn? We learned that people want to help and support causes that touch those they know and love. We learned people will help, donate, and share their experience and expertise if you just ask! We learned that hard work yields terrific results.
We look forward to our third annual event! Our fundraising efforts (and steadfast commitment to raise money for PH) are dedicated to all PH patients who continue to fight the fight and demonstrate their appreciation of our work.
