Sample Sponsorship Letter

Dear [INSERT CO-SPONSORS NAME],

On behalf of the Pulmonary Hypertension Association, I invite [COMPANY NAME] to be a sponsor of [INSERT EVENT TITLE]. The event is being organized by the [LOCAL AREA] support group and will be held at [INSERT EVENT LOCATION] on [INSERT DATE].

Fourteen years ago, when the Pulmonary Hypertension Association (PHA) was formed, a main goal was ending the terrible sense of aloneness of living with an incurable disease that no one understood. Since that time, new treatments have been approved by the FDA and we are living longer…50% of patients survive five years or more from diagnosis. New drugs are in medical trials. Research we support is leading to greater understanding of how the illness works. There is hope. Events like ours are adding to that hope every day.

Pulmonary hypertension (PH) is a debilitating, life-threatening illness with no cure. It causes high blood pressure in the lungs, which produces progressive breathlessness and ultimately threatens life itself. Tens of thousands are affected in the United States; hundreds of thousands worldwide. I have enclosed a brochure that describes our illness and some of the work that PHA engages in to improve conditions for patients.

I know the devastating effects of this disease first hand. [insert brief personal story]

Proceeds from the [INSERT EVENT TITLE] will aid PHA’s efforts to provide patient support, expand medical research, and disseminate the latest information to the PH community. We are seeking sponsorships of donated goods, printing services and food for the day-of the event. Financial contributions give us the greatest flexibility. Please see the attached co-sponsor form to sign up for a specific donation.

I will be calling you soon to discuss sponsorship options and answer any questions you may have; but please don’t hesitate to contact me at [INSERT EMAIL/PHONE]. In the meantime, you may also want to visit our website at www.phassociation.org to learn more about PHA and our work.

On behalf of PH patients, family members, caregivers and friends, I thank you for considering our request.

Sincerely,
