CTEPH Awareness Day

Join the Pulmonary Hypertension Association (PHA) in promoting CTEPH Awareness Day this Nov. 8. Check out our resources below to raise awareness about the risks, symptoms and treatment options for CTEPH.

What Is CTEPH?

Chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension (CTEPH) is a form of pulmonary hypertension (PH) caused by old blood clots in the lungs, also known as pulmonary emboli. In most patients with these blood clots, prescribed blood thinners can restore blood flow to the lungs and prevent the development of CTEPH. However, a minority of patients may still develop CTEPH, even with blood thinners. The good news is treatment options are available. Learn more about CTEPH, including treatment options, at the CTEPH education page.
