Online Support Group Chats
Why wait until the next local support group meeting? You can connect every day of the week at online support group chats!
The chat tool is easy to use and a great way to meet new PHers from across the country and around the world. Just enter PHA Chat and go to the chat room for the day.
Any questions? Contact us at Chats@PHAssociation.org.
We encourage chat room visitors to discuss their health care with their doctors. These chats are intended only to provide a meeting place for patients and family members to communicate with one another and not to provide medical advice on personal health matters, which should be obtained directly from a physician. PHA will not be responsible for visitors' actions taken as a result of their interpretation of information contained in these chat rooms.
The PHA chat tool has explanations of what you are hovering over with your mouse, and it also has a handy Help function that is a complete users guide. Be sure you allow pop-ups in order to use the Help User Guide.
The Google Chrome browser may not work with the chat page. If you have trouble getting to chat with Google Chrome, please use a different browser, or give this a try; it is advice from the chat program tech support:
"Please have the user clear their computer's Java cache of temporary files. To do so, they would open their computer's Control Panel, and double-click "Java". Under the "General" tab, in the "Temporary Internet Files" section, click the "Settings" button. Click the "Delete Files" button. Check the boxes for "Applications and Applets" and the check box for "Trace and Log Files", then click the "OK" button."
Chat Any Time
You can create a PHA chat room any time you want. It can be a public chat room or a private room, requiring a password to enter. Learn how
Volunteer to Moderate an Online Support Group
In order to provide this meaningful service, we need people willing to host chats on a regular basis so there's one to fit everyone's schedule. If you are interested in being a chat host, please contact Chats@PHAssociation.org.
This program is supported by an unrestricted educational grant from Gilead Sciences.
PHA is proud to be able to make educational materials and programs like these available for free to everyone because of the generous support from members of the community just like you. Donations are welcome!
Disclaimer: PHA PHriends are available to provide hope and support to PH patients and caregivers. They are not intended to provide medical advice on individual matters, which should be obtained directly from a physician.
