How to Start a Support Group

Want to meet another pulmonary hypertension patient in your town or region? Not sure where to start looking? PHA can help you find other patients and bring them together to start a dialogue of support and education. At its simplest, a support group can be defined as two or more people. We’re sure we can help you find at least another patient, if not more, to meet face to face for support. Learn more

Debbie has been coordinating the national network of Pulmonary Hypertension Association support groups for the last six years. During that time, she has worked to grow the network from less than 100 groups to the now more than 230 support groups across the nation and in Puerto Rico and Hawaii. She has worked with hundreds of leaders and volunteers to start groups and keep them growing stronger year after year.

Sophie joined the Volunteer Services team in 2010 and works with Support Group leaders to connect them with PHA resources. She handles all Support Group meeting mailings and manages the Support Group Central Fund which provides funding for food at meetings.
