When Urgent or Emergent Situations Arise: What Should I Do?

Urgent or emergent situations arise in all of our lives when we least expect them. As pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) patients, it is imperative that your PAH provider and team be notified immediately to coordinate your care. In this webinar, Wendy Hill, MSN, RN, NP-C, will assist you in learning how to address these untimely occurrences with your PAH team and in understanding the importance of having and implementing a plan.

Wendy Hill is a Research Nurse Practitioner Coordinator at the West Los Angeles VA Medical Center. She has been a nurse for more than 28 years. Wendy graduated from the University of Southern California (USC), as a Family Nurse Practitioner in 2003 and received her MSN. She is currently employed at Brentwood Biomedical Research Institute and is affiliated with the West Los Angeles VA Healthcare Center as the Programs Research Coordinator and Clinical NP for pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH). Prior to the VA, she was employed by USC from 1999-2005. She has 13 years of experience in managing PAH patients with her mentor Shelley Shapiro, MD. She currently manages and coordinates care for all research patients and handles all research related work. She has been the research coordinator for over 30 pulmonary hypertension studies. In addition she assists the clinical operations in managing PAH patients. Over the past 29 years in nursing, her career has included numerous leadership roles such as, nurse manager of cardiology office, charge nurse of level I trauma centers in emergency medicine, kidney and liver transplantation coordinator, bedside nursing in critical care and staff education. She has also presented at local and major meetings and has published articles and abstracts related to PAH.
