Conference 2008 was a great international success! We were especially proud to debut a brand new video showcasing the efforts of international PH associations. Soon, the video will be online and available for download.
At this year's Conference, we welcomed 84 registered attendees from 14 different countries: Australia, Brazil, Canada, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Ireland, Israel, Japan, Mexico, Pakistan, Turkey, the United Kingdom, and Venezuela. These attendees had the opportunity to get to know each other through a special reception for the international community on Friday evening, and were able to contribute ideas at a roundtable meeting specifically for the discussion of international PH associations on Saturday afternoon. In addition, there were five medically-led sessions during the conference that were featured in the Spanish language.
During Saturday's breakfast, "Snapshots from Around the World," leaders of PH associations from Canada, the Czech Republic, Japan, and Mexico participated in a panel discussion to share their stories with the PH community. They contributed insight that was valuable to everyone affected by PH: both in the U.S. to countries abroad.
At the PHA International booth, visitors could learn in-depth about the many PH associations worldwide. Several associations sent published materials, newsletters, and international goodies for the booth. In addition, a special theater played recorded best practices presentations from Belgium, Colombia, Norway, and Mexico, as well as excellent live presentations by representatives from the Czech Republic, Israel, Japan, Turkey, and Venezuela.
