PHA's Corporate Committee
PHA offers special thanks to those companies that have stepped
forward and are fulfilling a special responsibility to the PH
community by joining PHA's Corporate Committee. Through this committee,
the members work together toward solutions to a wide variety of
issues, including raising public visibility of PH and supporting
education needs of the patient and medical community.
Accredo
Therapeutics is a national network of pharmacies providing
nursing and pharmacy services, as well as all four FDA-approved
therapies to patients with Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension.
Actelion
A subsidiary of a Swiss drug development company by the same
name, which focuses on the endothelin. They are the developer
of bosentan (Tracleer®), an oral dual endothelin receptor
antagonist.
Actelion has also in-licensed Ventavis® (iloprost) Inhalation Solution, from Schering AG, for the treatment of pulmonary arterial hypertension, an orphan indication, for the U.S. market.
Biogen Idec is developing aviptadil (vasoactive intestinal polypeptide) in collaboration with mondoBIOTECH. This investigational therapy is currently in Phase II clinical development for the treatment of PAH.
Caremark program offers support with the nursing care, pharmacy, distribution,
and reimbursement for Flolan®, Tracleer®, and Remodulin®.
Theracom site:Offers comprehensive reimbursement, clinical, and data collection and reporting solutions customized for the biotechnology and pharmaceutical manufacturer.
Curascript Therapeutics One of the providers of Remodulin®
and Ventavis®. This company is a national distributor of
specialty pharmaceuticals and related medical supplies to the
alternate healthcare market.
Eli Lillyis the developer of Cialis (tadalafil). This oral medication is currently in Phase III trials for the treatment of PAH.
Encysive Pharmaceuticals is a biopharmaceutical company and the developers of sitaxsentan (Thelin®), which currently remains in Phase III clinical trials. Sitaxsentan is a small molecule that antagonizes the action of endothelin, a potent mediator of blood vessel constriction and growth of smooth muscle in vascular walls.
Gilead Sciences, formerly Myogen, is the maker of Letairis (ambrisentan). Gilead develops pharmaceuticals for a variety of life-threatening illnesses, including cardiovascular diseases. Gilead also markets and distributes Flolan through an agreement with GlaxoSmithKline.
Lung Rx is a separately managed affiliate of United Therapeutics focusing on several pharmaceutical products, including one early stage gene therapy solution for pulmonary hypertension (autologous cell-mediated eNOS).
Pfizer
is the developer of Revatio® (sildenafil citrate), an oral PAH treatment approved by the FDA in June 2005.

is their website dedicated to assisting patients and physicians
determine eleigibility for available pharmaceutical support
programs.
United
Therapeutics A niche pharmaceutical/disease management company
dedicated to the development and marketing of innovative therapies
for serious lung diseases, with a strong focus on PH.
PEER Network (Patients Exchanging Experiences with Remodulin) The goal of PEER is to provide an opportunity for people who are considering or who have recently started Remodulin to talk with an experienced Remodulin patient, called a PEER Mentor.
Fairview Specialty Pharmacy provides personal medication management services for commonly prescribed pulmonary hypertension therapies including Letairis (Ambrisentan) and Revatio.
Medtronic
manufactures pumps for use with Remodulin. Also manufactures
a host of other products and therapies.
Pharmacare
provides specialty pharmacy services for Tracleer.
Respironics provides information on sleep and respiratory issues.
Smiths Medical manufactures pumps for use with Flolan. Also manufactures a
host of other products and therapies.
