MedicAlert identifiers can convey critical health information to assist emergency responders and medical professionals in the event of an emergency. Emergency responders and medical professionals are trained to look for such information in order to provide safe and immediate treatment. These identifiers are recommended for PH patients due to the complex treatment many receive. MedicAlert identifiers can take the form of a bracelet, pendant or tag.

If you are on infusion therapy, consider the following language for your MedicAlert identifiers:

  • Pulmonary Hypertension
  • Do Not Stop Pump
  • On Sildenafil – No Nitrates (use if applicable)
  • Takes Coumadin (use if applicable)

If you are on non-infusion therapy, consider the following language for your MedicAlert identifiers:

  • Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension
  • On Sildenafil – No Nitrates (use if applicable)
  • Takes Coumadin (use if applicable)

Talk with your PH nurse for specific advice as to what should be included on your identifier.
