Message Board Cleanup DONE
5/29/07: Old messages have been cleaned off the message boards (see details below). You'll note there are some messages from before 2006. This is because we kept messages that are on a thread that was active after the beginning of 2006. We were able to remove almost 50 MB of data and you can already see the difference surfing the boards. Thank you to everyone for your feedback and support. Enjoy the boards everyone!

As those of you who use our message boards know, the boards have been very slow lately, and for some users impossible to access. This is because our message board database is too large – we have around 78,000 messages dating back to January 2003. In order to keep this as a valuable service to our community, we are proposing to remove all messages dated before 2006 from the boards, except the Age, Dx, Location board and the Passages board. The Age, Dx, Location board is a place to keep posts about your information so new visitors know who you are and everyone doesn’t have to reintroduce themselves every time a new visitor joins. The Passages board is for remembering those who lost the battle with PH. If you’d like to keep messages from any of the other boards from before 2006, please repost them in whichever of these two boards is appropriate. If your message is not appropriate for either of these boards, but you think the general PH community would benefit from the information, we encourage you to submit it to us for possible inclusion in the educational information and tips we provide or reposting to the boards.
After reviewing any comments from board users, our current plan is to do cleanup of messages from before 2006 on May 29 so you should be sure to move messages by Monday, May 28. We will make a copy of the messages we remove to keep internally, so if you miss one please contact Diane at web@PHAssociation.org or 301-565-3004 x119 after the cleanup and we can post it to one of these boards for you.
These issues message board users have been facing raise an important question about what we should be doing on a regular basis to keep our boards running smoothly and provide the best experience as possible for users. The boards are for you so we want to make sure the experience is what you want.
