CONFERENCE ANNOUNCEMENTS
Conference Program Tributes (in honor of, in appreciation of, in memory of, etc)
Due May 9
PHA makes space in the conference program for people to recognize those in the PH community special to them. These "tributes" can be purchased to honor your doctor, nurse, caregiver, patient, clinic staff, family, etc.
Tributes cost $25 each and consist of a line in the program saying "In honor of _______ by _________." They can also say "in appreciation of" or "in memory of" and include a few words saying what the tribute is for.
A couple examples from last year's program:
"In honor of Dr. Robyn Barst from the Carr family for 11 years of outstanding, compassionate care"
Accredo Wins Distribution Contract for Drug Used to Treat Lung Condition
Accredo Health Group Inc. was named the sole distributor of the drug Flolan, prescribed to treat pulmonary arterial hypertension, or high blood pressure in the lungs.

UPMC Top Lung Transplant Performer in Nation
The University of Pittsburgh Medical Center moved into first place last year among the nation's medical centers in the number of lung transplants performed.

PH Artist David Hetland Dead at 58
David was PHA's first volunteer graphic artist. In 2001, he designed a revised cover for the second edition of our Survival Guide. He also designed the "A Promise of Hope" poster in our conference room. It was used for a PH fundraising event by the PH Center at the Mayo Clinic. The design was later incorporated into the introduction to the Journeys section of our website where clicking on a point of color brought the viewer to a different story. We'll miss him.

An interactive cd-rom for medical professionals that will aid in diagnosis of pulmonary hypertension. This companion piece to the Fall issue of Advances in Pulmonary Hypertension assists with diagnosis of pulmonary hypertension and is an invaluable resource for medical professionals in pulmonology, cardiology, rheumatology, and primary care.
