Registration of Children and Teens
Contact Parent Coordinator to Help Ensure Adequate Resources for Children
Laurie Jeter, our PHA Parent Coordinator, is working to acquire the resources we need for children and teens at conference.  If you have a child ages 3-12 or teen ages 13-18 attending conference who will be participating in the children and teens activities, please contact Laurie at mjeterl@aol.com or 952-380-4999 with your children’s names, ages, and if they will be participating in the Saturday outing to the science center.  Please help us prepare enough resources for your children by contacting her by Monday, June 12.  Laurie has a lot of fun and exciting activities planned.  To learn more on children’s activities at conference, check out page 9 of the conference program available at http://www.phassociation.org/Conference/2006/Agenda.asp.

Hotel Options in Minneapolis
Along with blockbuster participation in PHA's conference in Minneapolis, a number of other groups are meeting there at the same time, making hotel rooms scarce. We have just learned that one of our alternate hotels, the Doubletree Guest Suites, is completely booked over the weekend of our conference. Based on our research (and things are changing quickly) rooms are available for the nights of June 23 and 24 at the Courtyard Minneapolis Downtown at the Depot, which is located 0.7 miles from our host hotel, the Hilton Minneapolis. To reserve a room at the Courtyard, call 800-321-2211 or 612-375-1700 or go to www.marriott.com. You may also want to try some of the online travel sites (such as hotels.com, Expedia.com, Travelocity.com) as there may be access to hotel rooms through them.

If you are a scholarship recipient, please note that PHA is taking care of your hotel reservations and will be in touch with you in that regard. The information above does not apply to you.

PH patients having trouble getting a room at the conference hotel, the Hilton Minneapolis Hotel, can email Kim Thompson at Kim@PHAssociation.org to be placed on the waiting list. Be sure to provide your name, phone number, and which nights you need a room. However, you should still book a room at an alternate hotel as we cannot guarantee that you will be able to get a room at the Hilton Minneapolis.

We are sorry for any inconvenience and we certainly want to welcome all interested participants to the conference.

Late Ambulance Costs Woman Transplant
Disabled woman missed out on a double lung transplant operation after an ambulance allegedly "got lost" - and then had to stop for fuel. Yvonne Crozier, 39, has been on the waiting list for a life-changing transplant operation for more than a year. But by the time she reached the hospital an hour late, the donor lungs had been given to someone else.
