1. Attend one of the many Awareness Month Events! Our event planners have been working hard to create events you won't want to miss.
   
2. Offer to help event planners near you! Call or email event planners and tell them you want to volunteer. Pass out fliers before an event, help with registration, make goodie bags or other tasks. You can find the planner of each event listed on the calendar, along with their contact info. This is also a great way to make new friends!

It was wonderful to see so many new faces at the 2007 PH Resource Network Symposium this year! The Symposium Committee worked hard to bring a variety of up-to-date topics and dynamic speakers to its two-day educational event at the Crystal City Hyatt Regency in Arlington, Va., in October. This biennial event continues to grow and was attended by 350 allied healthcare professionals including nurses, nurse practitioners and respiratory therapists. Many came away from the event with a sense of purpose and meaning in their professional daily lives.

Thanks to an unrestricted educational grant from Gilead, a complimentary CD-ROM with the slides and audio of all the presentations will be sent to all event participants and will be available online late November/early December.

You can help raise awareness in your community this month by reaching out to your local media and offering an interview through PHAware! Reporters NEED stories that will be meaningful to their community. Your community NEEDS to gain an understanding of PH. What is your most powerful tool in connecting these needs? Your own PH story. 

It is so very easy to do. Send emails, make phone calls. We all were once at the beginning of PH and very scared and didn't know anything about PH. There are lots of people who may be out there that are scared and feel they are alone. We can help. We can give them hope. Reach out and make a difference. - Lora Mausling

We reported a few weeks ago about the great response we received from you all about our website -- what you like and what you want changed. We were so thrilled with the number of people who took the time to fill out the survey -- 547 of you to be exact -- that we chose 2 prize winners.
