PERSONAL STORIES, HOPE AND HUMOR SHARED IN OUR JOURNEYS |
|
Members of the PH community continue to share their stories through the Our Journeys campaign. We added five new stories this week, which you can read on the Our Journeys web page.
As you explore these stories, be sure to check out Our Journeys' newest feature, S.O.B. (for shortness of breath), a cartoon series by PH patient Leslie Polss that addresses Pulmonary Hypertension with hope, humor and a lightness of heart.

| YOU SPOKE, WE'RE LISTENING. PHA CONSTITUENT SURVEYS YIELD INVALUABLE FEEDBACK |
|
Let us know if you asked for more information
The constituent surveys PHA recently conducted yielded a great deal of invaluable information that the PHA Board and staff will be reviewing, analyzing and responding to the over the coming months. We learned what you value most, what you want more of, and where improvements are in order. Some of you also asked for more information, but due to the anonymous nature of the survey, we can only respond to you if you get back to us.
We are deeply grateful to everyone who took the time to respond to the surveys. Your answers will help chart PHA's course over the coming months and years. |

A Cure For Five Pennies Helps Raise Awareness and Funds For PH
In March 2006, 4-year-old Nicole Elsenbroek's parents, Scott and Maria, discovered their daughter had pulmonary hypertension. A group of moms who met each other and became close friends when their children were in preschool decided to organize a fundraiser in her honor this winter.
Fish Fry In San Diego Brings Community Together
Lori Bonsteel organized a fish fry in her community this February in the memory of her sister, Doreen, who lost her fight to PPH 6 years ago. Lori had a great post-event report about the event:
"The fish was perfectly cooked and delicious! We had about 35 volunteers helping with selling tickets, setting up the hall, buying, cooking, serving and cleaning. Everyone did a fantastic job and the cooks looked great in their "Cookin' Up a Cure" aprons."

| WEB OF FRIENDS: THE ANSWER TO YOUR FRIEND'S QUESTION, "HOW CAN I HELP?" |
|
|
How often have your friends or family members asked, "How can I help?" when they learn that someone they care about is living with pulmonary hypertension? Pretty often, we would guess. Web of Friends, which "electrifies" our popular Circle of Friends letter-writing and fundraising program, provides a unique answer to that question.
Web of Friends gives you an easy way to share your PH story while raising awareness and funds toward a cure for PH and for the PHA services that mean so much to you. PHA has teamed up with FirstGiving, an online fundraising service that allows you to take your story across the country - or the world - in just minutes.
