During the past few months, there has been much discussion in our community about adult stem cell therapy for pulmonary hypertension patients. PHA's Scientific Leadership Council (SLC) issued a statement in May 2009 stating that stem cell use has not been adequately studied and neither the efficacy nor safety of stem cells to treat PAH has been established.

 

A fact sheet on stem cell therapy has now been developed by the SLC Education Committee that provides more detailed information about stem cell therapy specifically for pulmonary hypertension patients.
