Patient story

Vanessa D. Hale

"I was so thankful to God that someone finally noticed and could at least tell me something."

While I was waiting for the final days of school to be over and the anxious arrival of summer vacation was upon us, I kept having very bad sinus pressure attacks. I could not breathe and it felt as if an elephant was sitting on my forehead.

“What is this?” I kept asking myself. I kept going to the doctor over and over and kept being told my oxygen level was low. A few prescriptions later and still no relief.

"Waking up and being reminded we all have a purpose and many blessings come our way, we continue to strive and reach out to those who still need to be reached."

My appointment with my pulmonary doctor was a blessing. He immediately knew I was oxygen deprived and prescribed it 24/7. I felt immediate relief. I was so thankful to God that someone finally noticed and could at least tell me something.

After many tests and procedures and multiple blessings all the way around, I can say it is good to be able to finally know what PH is. With much faith and a corral of praying friends and doctors and my loving family, moving forward is a blessing.

Waking up and being reminded we all have a purpose and many blessings come our way, we continue to strive and reach out to those who still need to be reached.

As research continues and we learn more about PH together, may the light of hope keep burning for everyone.

Respectfully submitted,
Vanessa D. Hale
