My name is Robin Nelson. I just had a baby April 15th, 2005. After I got to go home with my new baby, I started getting dizzy and out of breath. I was scared that I might drop my child.
I have also always been severely fatigued, but I couldn't tell if it was my pregnancy or not, now I know. I have had a chronic cough as long as I can remember. I went to me doctor and he thought I had asthma. I went to the doctor that delivered my baby again on September 15, 2005 and he heard a murmur in my heart. On September 19, 2005 he scheduled me for an echo, and I was told that same day that I have pulmonary hypertension. On October 7,2005 I was put in the hospital for a heart cath. I now am on a Remodulin pump with the hickman cath. It is taking a lot to get used to. Not to mention figuring out what I can do with my baby now. I miss being able to give her a bath, but she splashes and I am afraid to get my cath wet so my mom bathes her. My husband and family all are taking this pretty hard. I try not to but when you just had your first child and find out you have a heart disease and you are young I worry mainly for my new baby. I don't want her to grow up without a mother. I have a good bit of good days now, but of course I get down in the dumps a lot too. |
