PH community members have planned a wide variety of exciting events in their hometowns. When deciding on an event, consider what your resources are. Use the chart below to get an idea of how much time, money and volunteer help will be needed for each kind of event.
One thing that makes PHA Special Events so darn special is that each one is different, and reflects the community and personality of each volunteer. If you want to try an event that is not listed above, please do! Volunteers have hosted kite festivals, carnivals, art sales, pageants and casino nights! No matter what you choose, PHA will be here to help.
Karen Puopolo along with her son plan an annual Bocce Tournament! Bocce is an popular Italian lawn game where players must roll spherical bocce balls toward a small white or yellow target ball.
Karen says, "I don't think there are many bocce tournaments around, so it's rather unique and lots of fun. For anyone thinking of doing a similar event, all I can say is go for it! We didn't have a clue what we were doing at first and yet things worked out better than I could have ever expected."
