One person can make a huge difference in his/her community
by raising awareness and fundraising for PHA services and
PH research. As a PH patient, caregiver, health care professional,
or friend, you can educate others and raise funds for the
cause.
Involve people in your daily life to get active with PHA.
Whether you are a student or active in the workforce, you
can include your peers in making a difference. Even children
can lend a hand and play a role in helping support the PH
community.
Media action is a valuable tool that will help you promote
awareness about PH to the public. There are several ways in which
you can contact the media: news release, letter to the editor,
op-ed, offer of an interview, and public service announcement (PSA).
Many insurance companies
do not know about PH or effective treatments for the illness.
This misinformation leads to denial of coverage and claims.
You can help to change this trend by educating your insurance
company.
Elected officials have a great deal of power to make changes
to policy. Making your voice heard will help to get these
key decision-makers on board with the PH community’s
legislative goals.
