I chose to participate in Advocacy Day because of my passion for treating PH. The entire event was amazing and very well organized! |
|
The best part of the event for me was feeling that I have an impact on helping raise awareness of the disease. |

PH advocacy on Capitol Hill is too important an opportunity to pass up. It’s an opportunity to express support for all of the patients and caregivers who struggle to have a normal life with PH.
-Sheryl Williams, RN, BSN after lobbying for the first time during Advocacy Day 2007
Advocacy Day, Thursday September 24, is the kick-off event for the 2009 PH Resource Network Symposium. Sign up is simple and free with your registration, just check the appropriate box on your registration form and submit it no later than September 17.
Whether you’re a first time advocate, or a Capitol Hill veteran, advocacy day is for you!
- Advocacy day begins at 11:00 with a training for all participants. Transportation to the Capitol and a light boxed lunch will be provided.
- Every Advocacy Day participant will be assigned to a small group. You’ll travel together, visiting each group member’s representative.
- You’ll share your experience with PH and request co-sponsorship of the Tom Lantos PH Research and Education Act of 2009.
- With healthcare reform on everyone’s mind, you’ll play an essential role in representing the PH community on Capitol Hill, reinforcing the need for increased PH research and awareness.
Don’t forget September 17!
- Last day to register for Advocacy Day.
- Last day to cancel your existing registration.
The PH community has a strong reputation on Capitol Hill. Help us keep it that way! Notify us of changes in your plans by September 17 so that we can provide Congressional staff with accurate information.
