Additional Sponsorship and Fundraising Sources

PHA Special Events Central Fund

The Pulmonary Hypertension Association is pleased to announce our new Special Events Central Fund program to assist special event organizers in securing sponsorship for PHA-recognized special events.

As you may know, PhRMA, a coalition of research-based pharmaceutical and biotech companies, produced a set of guidelines earlier this year that impacts funding for special events, as well as for PHA support groups. The companies that have traditionally sponsored PHA special events have each made their own interpretation of the guidelines, resulting in various determinations as to whether or not they can sponsor these local fundraisers.

To address the need for continued support of our special events program, two companies (to date) have agreed to be part of a Central Fund. Through this fund event planners can apply directly to PHA for funding enabling you to host events that raise both awareness and funds to support PH research and other vital patient programs and services. You may also continue to submit requests for sponsorship directly to those companies that are not Central Fund participants.

PHA also offers a Support Group Central Fund, made possible by Platinum Sponsor Actelion and Gold Sponsor Gilead, to address similar needs for PHA support group meetings. For more information about this program, please contact Debbie Castro, supportgroups@PHAssociation.org or 301-565-3004 x765.
