The first quarterly meeting for 2007 of the CFSG was held at the Celebration Hotel in Celebration, Florida on Saturday, March 17. The meeting was attended by twenty-five adults and two young children who enjoyed exploring the many children’s activities with their Aunt, while their Mom who is responding well to Flolan participated in the meeting. The attendees were patients, their caregivers and healthcare professionals. Dr. Fortune Alabi from the Celebration Hospital attended and answered questions. Attendees received a nine page handout containing information on Medicare Part D.
The next scheduled quarterly meeting is set for June 16, 2007. All future meetings for 2007 will be at the Celebration Hotel. The speaker for this meeting will be Penni Potter-Perez, A.C.C.E.S.S. Program, Manager, who will speak on how her group provides insight and information on Social Security Disability and Supplemental Income.
The corporate sponsorship for this meeting was generous and all meeting expenses, including the brunch buffet were prepaid. We would like to sincerely thank Actelion, Gilead and Caremark for their continued support.
We continue to focus on spreading the word to the regional PH patient population and healthcare professionals that the support group is available to serve them and their needs.
