Pulmonary Hypertension Association Hosts Benefit Concert
SILVER SPRING, MD – 6/25/06 – [DESCRIBE HIGHLIGHTS OF YOUR EVENT] The Pulmonary Hypertension Association will host a rock concert in Silver Spring at 7 p.m. this Friday. Pulmonary hypertension patient and professional vocalist, Charity Sunshine will perform. The event’s goal is to raise awareness of pulmonary hypertension and to fund research for a cure.
[DESCRIBE PH] Pulmonary hypertension is a simplified name for a complex health problem–continuous high blood pressure in the pulmonary artery in the lungs, resulting in an enlarged heart which can also lose its ability to pump. There is no cure. In 1985 patients had a 50% chance of surviving 2.8 years past date of diagnosis but, thanks to new treatments, prognosis is improving. PHA’s goal is to provide hope to the pulmonary hypertension community through support, education, advocacy and awareness. Their vision will remain PHA’s mission until a cure for PH is found.
[REVIEW THE EVENT DETAILS] PHA’s benefit concert will occur on [DATE] at [LOCATION, FULL ADDRESS]. Doors open at 7 p.m. and tickets are $5. Please contact Bob Smith at [E-MAIL OR PHONE OF PRESS CONTACT] for more information.
