Mardi Gomberg-Maitand, MD, MSc, is currently an Assistant Professor of Medicine and Director of the Pulmonary Hypertension Center at the University of Chicago Hospitals. She is a fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians and a fellow of the American College of Cardiology and an active member of the American Heart Association, the American Thoracic Society, and the Pulmonary Hypertension Association.

Whitney Decker, 29, lives just outside Chicago in Orland Park, Illinois with her husband, Tim, and 4-year-old daughter, Shealee Veronica. PAH treatments have helped stabilize Whitney’s condition, allowing her to focus on family and become a philanthropic entrepreneur.

Alexa Tunitis (Too-NIGH-tis), 26, lives in southern Indianapolis, Indiana with her husband, Matt, and 19-month-old twin daughters, Sophie and Josie. She has a familial connection to PAH; her aunt was diagnosed with the disease approximately 10 years ago and continues to beat prognosis odds today.
