Things I Found on PHA's Website

Create a Public or Private PHA Chat Room

You may already know that PHA provides hosted "Online Support Group Chats." There is a schedule on the Chat page, listing times and hosts. Thanks to our wonderful chat hosts, there is a scheduled chat for each day of the week. But did you know you can create a PHA chat room any time you want? It can be a public chat room or a private room, requiring a password to enter.

Go directly to the chat rooms

Type the user name you would like to use in the chat room, and click "Connect."

You will see a chat space, with chat users listed; you are in the Chat Lobby. To list the rooms, click on "Show Rooms" at the top left. (The list toggles between "Show Users" and "Show Rooms.")

Public or private rooms can be created any time. They will remain active as long as they have a user in them. Once they are empty, they disappear from the room listing.

To create a room, click on the "Roam" menu at the top; choose "Create Room" from the list in that menu.

Click on the "Creation" tab.

Type a name for your chatroom. If you have invited others to join you, this is the name they will look for in the room listing. To enter, they will just need to click on "Show Rooms" and double click the name of your chat room in the lsiting.

To create a private room that requires a password for entry, check the "Add a Password" box and type in a password when you create the room. The room name will be listed with a key icon next to it. When a person tries to enter they will be asked for the password. If you create a private room and invite people to chat, just give them the room name and password.

Feel free to create and use chatrooms at PHA any time. Please remember, if you create the room and then leave it empty, it will disappear from the listing. You need to create it again to re-enter later. The room will remain in the listing as long as there is a user in it, even if it is not the user who created the room.
