PHA Support Group Central Fund

The Pulmonary Hypertension Association is pleased to announce our new Support Group Central Fund program to assist PHA Support Group leaders in securing refreshment and meal sponsorships for upcoming meetings.

As you may know, PhRMA, a coalition of research-based pharmaceutical and biotech companies, produced a set of guidelines earlier this year that impacts funding for support groups, as well as for special events. The companies that have traditionally sponsored our support group meetings have made their own interpretation of the guidelines, resulting in various determinations as to whether or not they can sponsor these meetings.

To address the need for continued support of our support group program, two companies (to date) have agreed to be part of a Central Fund. Through this fund support groups can apply directly to PHA for funding enabling you to host meetings that meet the needs of PH patients and caregivers across the country. You may also continue to submit requests for sponsorship directly to those companies that are not Central Fund participants.

PHA also has a Special Events Central Fund, made possible by Actelion and Pfizer, to address similar needs for PHA special events. Visit the Special Events Central Fund page
