What is an MOU?
An MOU, or Memorandum of Understanding, is an agreement between PHA and a partner PH organization in which both organizations commit to share information and best practices to accelerate the growth of the PH movement as we progress toward better treatments, broader knowledge and awareness, and ultimately a cure.

How can my organization benefit by signing a MOU with PHA?
Every MOU-holding PHA partner receives:

  • Membership in the group of international PH associations that have signed MOUs and access to PHA_Planet, a listserv for international PH association leaders
  • Enhanced credibility by being tied to an information-sharing network designed to help faster growth of PH associations worldwide.
  • Special recognition on PHA’s website
  • References in appropriate publications, such as Pathlight, PHA’s quarterly newsletter
  • Access to the coordination services of PHA’s International Services department

Most importantly, organizations that sign MOUs with PHA get all this without compromising their ability to focus on the issues most important to their members.

How will the members of my organization benefit if my organization signs a MOU?
Every PH association in the world, whatever its stage of organization, is constantly introducing new and important ideas in the struggle against PH. Communication is the key to sharing these ideas. By talking through organizational issues and sharing best practices, each participating nation will be in a better position to accelerate the growth and impact of its PH association. By strengthening the international network of associations, patient isolation will decrease and opportunities to work for positive change will increase.

If my organization signs a MOU, what can we look forward to in the future?
Signing an MOU with PHA formalizes a vibrant partnership that is continuously beneficial to both parties. PHA’s international partners are involved in critical translations of information and support materials, collaborate with each other through the member-only listserv, share resources, and more.

How will PHA benefit from a partnership with my association?
PHA shares many of the same benefits as its partner associations; PHA and its members benefit from international communication and the exchange of resources and information. In addition, coordinating and cooperating with others as they fight this disease maintains and nourishes the spirit of the entire PH community.
