BUILDING AN EFFECTIVE PH ASSOCIATION
Getting Organized
Lay a Solid Foundation for Your Work
Once you have connected with a few patients and medical professionals in your country, take time to organize your contacts and plan next steps. Work with the other founding members of your group to define a development period and temporary structure of responsibilities and procedures. Address, for example, how work will be shared and how leaders will be elected.
The decisions you make in these early days are likely to change over time, but they are important nonetheless. These choices will inform the growth of your group and how you begin your work. They should facilitate your group's efforts toward achieving your initial goals and continuing your work. If they don't, take the time to reevaluate why and make necessary changes. You will want your group to run smoothly in its smallest, simplest form so that it can be effective as it grows!
