Dee and Charles Curtis Celebrate 50th Wedding Anniversary
In Honor of Daughter, Carol
Dee and Charles Curtis have been happily married for 50 years. When it came time to celebrate their anniversary in May, they decided to ask their friends for donations to PHA in lieu of gifts. They were spurred to do this by their daughter Carol’s battle with PH. When asked about the outcome of their fundraiser, Dee said, “I was surprised by the amount of generosity we received from our friends and family. This was much more special than a bunch of presents that I don’t need or want. At my age, I don’t really need anything.”
When Dee and Charles decided that they wanted to commemorate their anniversary this way, they contacted PHA’s development department and learned about PHA’s In Honor of Our Lives program. PHA provided them with cards to mail with their invitations asking for donations to PHA in lieu of gifts. The gifts totaled nearly $1400 
to support our cause and they raised awareness of PH among their friends at the same time.
