Support an Event
Your opportunities to support a Pulmonary Hypertension Association special event are abundant and will give you the satisfaction of being part of something BIG: an event that will raise awareness about pulmonary hypertension and funds for PHA’s research and patient-serving programs.
To get started, browse the PHA Special Events calendar for registration and contact information. Once you find an event in your area, you can:
Fundraise Online
Fundraising online is easy when you use PHA’s handy tool. You can get personal sponsors to support your participation in a PHA special event! In addition to raising funds and awareness, many online fundraisers report on the enjoyment they get from the comments and support from friends and family.
- Visit www.firstgiving.com/phassociation and click on “Get Started.”

- Select the event for which you’re fundraising, or create a new page if the event is not listed.
- Follow the registration prompts to register with Firstgiving.com and to customize your page
- Congratulations! You’re all set to email your fundraising page to friends and family, encouraging them to support your involvement.
Fundraise Offline
You can also collect pledges and donations for an event from your friends, family and peers in-person. To learn more, contact the organizer of the event you’re attending, using information on our special events calendar, or contact Jessica McKearin, PHAs Special Events Manager, at Events@PHAassociation.org.
Volunteer
It takes many hearts and hands to organize a successful event. If there’s an event near you and you’d like to help out in small or large ways, contact the organizer who will be delighted to put your time and talents to work.
You can help out before the event with publicity, fundraising, donating or collecting auction or raffle items, providing logistical support and in many other ways. Volunteering on the day of the event is equally important and appreciated! “Day of” volunteer tasks include registering participants, serving food, set-up and clean-up. Plus you’ll have a great time and meet lots of wonderful people.
Can’t attend an event?
You can still make an impact by making a personal donation, setting up a personal fundraising page or fundraising offline for an event. By doing so, you’ll help the event organizers reach — and even exceed — their fundraising goals.
