Fun Walk for a Cure

New in 2011! Check out our new Fun Walk logo, below. This fresh new logo incorporates many of the colors that PHA often uses in print and online materials, and the fact that by hosting fun walks, our volunteers truly bring the community "one step closer to a cure."

Fun Walk for a Cure logo_2011New Year, New Look:  PHA's brand new Fun Walk for a
Cure logo, as chosen by you - the PH community!

Each year, more and more members of our PH community are organizing special events to raise funds and awareness for research and patient-serving programs. One of the easiest and most popular fundraisers hosted year after year is PHA's signature event: the Fun Walk for a Cure. We’ve created a handbook that takes you step-by-step through the planning process, including chapters like:

What goes into planning a Fun Walk?

  • Time
  • People power
  • Funds

Top things to do when planning a Fun Walk:

  • Find a Location
  • Set a Time and Date
  • Develop the Program, Gather Supplies
  • Recruit Volunteers
  • Invite Participants
  • Get Press
  • Get Sponsors

We’ve also included sample event sponsorship letters, a sample budget, and sample press materials. Ideas in the handbook are based off of the experiences and lessons learned from past PHA member-led Fun Walks.

We’ve also sprinkled inspiring quotes and pictures along the way. This handbook is a turnkey tool that can help you make a difference in your own community. We hope you join the ranks of PHA volunteers already planning to host a Fun Walk in their community this year!
