Board term ending: January 2015 (second term)

Steve Van Wormer is a writer and voice actor from Burbank, Calif. He and his wife Marina have been committed to the cause since the day their son Lucas was diagnosed with Idiopathic PH in November of 2006 at the age of four.

Steve is the co-recipient of the 2008 Julie Hendry Memorial Scholarship Award. He has also produced an ongoing series of radio PSAs for PHA. The Van Wormers have also set up a pediatric PH support group, in conjunction with UCLA & L.A. Children’s Hospital and at “Little Soldiers of Light.”

Steve is happy to have enlisted Lucas’ pediatric cardiologist, Dr. Juan Alejos of UCLA, to join the PHA on the Road events and the 9th International PH Conference in 2010. Steve and Marina were co-chairs of the Conference Planning Committee for PHA’s 10th International Conference and Scientific Sessions (2012) and is the co-chair for the upcoming 12th International Conference and Scientific Sessions (2016).
