PHA-supported Researcher Dr. Todd Bull

Dr. Todd BullAs an intern at the start of his career, Dr. Bull met an inspiring woman who was admitted to the hospital and diagnosed with pulmonary hypertension. Dr. Bull's interest in PH research was immediately heightened:

"Here was someone who has previously been in good health, but whose life had been turned upside down by this terrible disease. I felt that having PH was so unfair and that we understood so very little about what was happening to her. I wanted to do everything I could to make her better," Dr. Bull said.

With the help of two grants from PHA's research program, Dr. Bull was able to concentrate his research in the field of PH. And since receiving PHA research funding, Dr. Bull has become a leader in the field. His contributions have been recognized with a seat on PHA's Scientific Leadership Council, a body of the leading PH physicians and researchers from around the world.

According to Dr. Bull, "Without the support of these grants during a critical time in my academic career I am not sure I would have been able to continue doing research in this vital area."
