Sally Maddox is a math teacher at an alternative school and has been a PH patient for over 20 years. She lives in Rome, GA and she has been the leader of the Georgia Support group since 1997. She organizes the annual GA Fun Walk for a Cure each October to raise money for PH research and patient services. She has served as PHA's Vice President of Education, as well as on the Conference Planning Committee since 2002. Sally is also the editor of PHANews, PHA’s biweekly internet information resource for patients and caregivers.

Sally is also involved as a volunteer for the Community Emergency Response Team and the local Crisis Pregnancy Center in Rome. She’s married to Shelby, a member of the Army Reserve who just returned from a tour in Iraq. She is helping to raise his son, Brandon, a freshman in college. Sally graduated with her Master’s and specialist degrees in Secondary Mathematics Education from the University of West Georgia. She is starting her Doctorate in Leadership for Learning with a Mathematics Concentration this year at Kennesaw State University.

Sally was first elected to the Board of Trustees in 1999. She took a brief break from the Board in 2009 and was re-elected again in January 2010. She is currently the Secretary of the Board of Trustees.
