Session Recording from PHA's 2010 9th International PH Conference
Familial/Genetic PH
June 26, 2010
What is familial pulmonary arterial hypertension? This session reviews what is known about the genetic basis of pulmonary arterial hypertension, and how this knowledge affects patients and their families. Current genetic tests are discussed including what is done, where one can get such testing and who pays for the tests. The panel also addresses the questions: “Is the treatment any different if abnormal genetic test results are documented?” and “Can genes determine the safety and usefulness of your medication?”
