When Becky Walker wrote a letter to the Today Show about her good friend Christie Breault and Christie’s story as a long-term pulmonary hypertension survivor, she had no idea that a few months later, she and Christie would be whisked to New York City to appear live on the show’s “Everyone Has a Story” segment. Christie was diagnosed with pulmonary hypertension 15 years ago shortly after she gave birth to her son. In the Today Show segment, Becky says Christie gave up her dream of teaching full-time, but she never lost her spirit. Watch Christie on the Today Show
One week after her segment on the Today Show, Christie reports, “I had 68 new Facebook friend requests/emails regarding PAH and PHA.” Christie plans to continue sharing her story with her community — she’s already pitched her story to her local paper and news stations.
Join Christie in her efforts! Now is the time to start sharing your story and information about PH Awareness Month with local media.
