PH Bill Introduced in House of Representatives

The Tom Lantos Pulmonary Hypertension Research and Education Act of 2011 (H.R. 1810) was introduced in the House of Representatives last week by Reps. Kevin Brady (R-TX) and Lois Capps (D-CA). It is a companion bill to S. 775, which was introduced last month in the Senate. Thanks to the advanced lobbying of the PH community, the House bill also has four original co-sponsors: Rep. Jim Gerlach (R-PA), Rep. Chris Van Hollen (D-MD), Rep. John Olver (D-MA) and Rep. Jim McGovern (D-MA).

The PH Research and Education Act calls for more PH research at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and seeks to end misdiagnosis through public and medical professional awareness programs. Take action today to build Congressional awareness of PH, co-sponsorship for the bill, and our momentum toward a cure!
