"I will be the voice for those without breath and use every ounce of energy I have to do what I can for my new PHamily. "

- Sylvia Creach

"I know how you feel" are empty words unless they are spoken by someone who has lived the life, walked the walk and slammed their own heads on the office doors of dozens of doctors for sometimes dozens of years.

Before my diagnosis I was a volunteer and worked with needs of all types, including as a national representative for military families. I raised my family while my husband was deployed, helped my mom through the emotional and paper process of a devastating diagnosis and finally decided to erase the yellow stripe down my spine and stepped out into some of my own dream casting. October 27, 2010 changed many things for me – except my hard-headed determination not to let this stop me.

Sylvia CreachHow will I help others? By showing courage within myself and a willingness to share what I'm learning along the path of my new adventure; By owning the fact that I cannot solve everyone's problems, but by knowing I'm a darn good listener; By finding the strength to laugh and cry with my PHamily and by challenging myself and my PHamily to look beyond the disability and look for possibilities. Life changes and we have to change with it.

I will be the voice for those without breath and use every ounce of energy I have to do what I can for my new PHamily. No one is ever kicked out of our family unless they so choose to be. We have a motto - one that has carried us through all manner of travesties – "Our lives aren't filled with tragedy, it's filled with adventures. It's how you come out on the other side that makes the difference".

I am determined to help everyone find a bright spot in this adventure and find a new "You."
