PHA’s International PH Conference and Scientific Sessions draws in an increasing number of participants from around the world each year, and PHA is pleased to offer programming specifically for global attendees. In 2010, PHA hosted the First International Leaders’ Summit for PH association leaders from all over the world. The 10th International PH Conference and Scientific Sessions will feature the Second International Leaders’ Summit as well as many new programs for global patients, PH organization leaders and medical professionals.

- International Leaders’ Summit

The Second International Leaders’ Summit on Thursday, June 21 will bring together PH association leaders from all over the world. International PH association leaders from over 20 nations will learn from each other, share best practices in developing a PH association and build relationships. Panel discussions include: Patient Resources, Building Relationships in the PH Community, PH Advocacy and Awareness and Association Management (by invitation only).

These concurrent meetings on Friday, June 22, will bring leaders and PH patients together to discuss topics important in their geographic region (for global guests).
Canada: PHA Canada will host a Meet and Greet for PH patients, families and medical professionals visiting from Canada. Light refreshments will be served (for Canadian attendees only).
Latin America: The Sociedad Latina de HP will host a networking event for PH patients, families and medical professionals visiting from Latin America. Light refreshments will be served (for Spanish speaking attendees only).

This reception for international PH association leaders and global PH physicians on Friday, June 22 honors Dr. Julio Sandoval, the recipient of the first-ever International Physician Award. This prestigious award recognizes the accomplishments of a PH physician living outside of the U.S. who has made a difference for his/her patients and in the advancement of the PH field. Past Physician of the Year Award winner Dr. Michael McGoon will present the award. This reception is also an opportunity for global guests to network together (by invitation only).

With more awareness events happening around the world each year, this Saturday, June 23 meeting provides a venue for the global PH community to discuss how to best leverage the awareness-raising efforts of PH associations around the world. The group will overview the existing awareness initiatives happening worldwide, and discuss possible areas of collaboration or mutual support (by invitation only).
- International Exhibit: Throughout Conference, the International Exhibit will be available for all attendees to see what PH resources are available worldwide.
