PHA Sponsored Research
PHA's Research Program has contributed more than $7,500,000 through partnerships with the National Heart Lung and Blood Institute (NHLBI) and the American Thoracic Society (ATS).
Since the Research Program's inception, PHA alone has contributed about $3,000,000 toward supporting researchers at various levels in their careers. By sponsoring researchers at the forefront of the field, PHA actively ensures a brighter future for those with PH and supports the fight for a cure.
The Pulmonary Hypertension Association offers three major research programs each year to support cutting-edge research on pulmonary hypertension.

How Patients and Families Can Help PH Research
From sharing your biologic specimens and participating in treatment clinical trials to sharing confidential medical and family information with registries, there are ways you can help PH research.
DOD Funds PH Research
Each year, the Department of Defense (DOD) makes fewer than 30 diseases eligible for study in its Peer Review Medical Research Program (PRMRP). PHA salutes Dr. Peter Kao, a researcher from the Stanford School of Medicine, who received funding for his PH research proposal, as well as the 36 additional researchers whose applications to the DOD focused on PH.We look forward to working to ensure the direction of FY09 DOD research funding toward projects that impact our understanding of PH and bring us closer to a cure. |
