I was diagnosed with PH at age 13 and lived with the condition for about 12 years. In June 13 2016, at age 25 I received a double lung transplant and have done very well. It wasn't until after my surgery that I got involved with PHA. I'm looking forward to working with others as they go through the process of getting a transplant.

Don't let PH run your life. You are in charge.

I am a wife and mother of three. While working as a nurse I was diagnosed with IPAH at the age of 29. I received a successful double lung transplant in 1995. Following transplant I was able to be involved in my children's activities, ie. Girl Scout leader, Baseball mom, Band mom, etc. My children have become successful young adults. Currently I have been dependent on oxygen for the last year from numerous infections and Chronic rejection and have asked to be listed for another transplant. My wonderful husband is my caregiver and is my rock! I have met my donor's family and have been invited to her younger sister's wedding this summer. It would be a wonderful honor to represent my donor at such a momentous event!
